I don't mean to piss everyone off..........

Konqueror is a pretty damn good browser though i've had a few java related problems with it. Netscape 6 is good but is too much of a memory hog. I found Opera to be fairly decent. I wish they had shockwave support for Linux :o(

are you serious ns6 is a big pile of sh1t

i don't care about the memory aspect cause i have 512 megs of ram but that browser sucks *** . I downloaded it the other day cause i am working on a web site and i was curious to see how it looked in netscape. and the page that i built actually can look three different ways sometimes it will be ****ed up one way sometimes another and then sometimes it looks almost exactly like it does in ie. They still have not gotten the CSS figured out in netscape and i am starting to wonder if they ever will. But then after i thought about it a little bit i realized tha i don't care how my site looks in netscape cause netscape sucks and hardly anyone uses it anyway. And what the phuck is whith all the advertising in it. This peice of timewarneraol bullsh1t sends me to a netscape store to buy my new printer ink and various other things. It is bad enough that there are frickin' banner ads all over the net now the god damn ads are built into the software F U C K T H A T

I hope that this type of sh!t does not happen to winamp which is also owned by aol/timewarner now, cause i really like that program.

I won't participate in another NS/IE war, but suffice it to say that AOL did screw that company bad.

I do want to say that I had no problems reading or writing to my NTFS partition in Linux.

Is it OK in Linux because it works well, or OK because there is nothing better that's available?

Well, you might be able to under WINE. :P

You could use IE under WINE but whats the point. Its too much work to configure. I find that Mozilla's browser works alot better than NS6

That was what I meant. Saying that something works better on one platform than another would usually indicate that it was tuned for one of them. I just feel that this is in fact not the case, and it just happens to be better than what's available for Linux.

Netscape was great at versions 1-3, and worked well with 4 (kind of a pig, but so was IE4). But the development of NS browsers stalled, and now they seem to be shooting themselves in the foot with the NS6 implementation.

Long live Microsoft !! laugh

part of the reason IE loads so fast is because it is integrated into the shell, Netscape USED to be good, now i agree that its a bloated peice of sh1t

OSX has to one of the most visually pleasing OS's on the market to date. Everything just seems to flow so smoothly in it. The entire OS is based on PDF graphics, which accounts for the awesome antialiased graphics.

Actually, I heard recently that Stardock was pulling all of their Aqua skins due to a legal threat from Apple.
