Patriot Zephyr 128GB JMicron Solid-State Drive Review

 

Patriot faces some stiff competition with a number of SSD's already on the market with performance specifications on par or exceeding that of the Zephyr. Will the JMicron JMF612 controller-based Zephyr SSD series rise above with its combination of price vs. performance?

They didn't jump into the SSD market full force as some others have, but they have taken a more conservative approach instead. They are adding to their SSD lineup this month, releasing a value line of SSD's carrying the moniker of Zephyr - a name with roots to Greek mythology. The Zephyr line offers capacities of 64GB and 128GB at $184 & $358, respectively, and can only be found at Amazon.com for the first few weeks of availability.
