Mr.Biggles 0 Posted September 20, 1999 I recently installed win2k and this being my first time on an NT platform i have many questions. One of my biggest problems upto this point has been getting certain games to run. The one i am most concerned in rinning is Darkstone. On the NT Game Place page it says that darkstone works but everytime i try to run it, it say that i do not have a 3d accelerator card install, which of course i do. So my question is could this be a video card driver? Right now i am using the default Win2k TnT2 driver that Win2k installed. I have also tried nVidia's and Aopen's drivers also to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions plz help me out. Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted September 20, 1999 D3D is DEAD in RC2 on all TnT card so far I haven't found a work a round. Not even older drivers work. your Best bet is RC1 2072 that last know builder to work in D3D mode. Share this post Link to post

SHS 0 Posted September 20, 1999 No MS is not phasing out D3D will still be there. MS does not write drivers. The IHV's write them. My guest is that didn't pass DX7 compatible test agine. Share this post Link to post
