Ghost 0 Posted November 25, 1999 Greetings, Was looking over the Games Compatibility listing and noticed that Age of Empires II was listed. Picked up the game, but can't seem to get it working. I am currently running the DX5NT patch & SETDX6 (although Im not sure if it is set up correctly). When I try to launch the game I get the "Must have DX 6.1a or better error message). Any suggestions? jams 0 Posted November 25, 1999 Install Sp 6 or just directplay 6.1, then it should, at least it does for me, but i dont have the dx5 and dx6.1 **** installed! Share this post Link to post

cyb97 0 Posted November 26, 1999 SP6 doesn't contain any dx upgrades (dp is a part of dx)... so you have to install from the AOE, thought I'd just mention this is somebody else tries to install SP6 instead of dp6.1... Share this post Link to post
jams 0 Posted November 26, 1999 hum, strange because i made new install of nt4 with sp6 and when i run aoe 2 it worked at once! with sp 5 i had that it asks for dx6.1! But not with with Sp6! Share this post Link to post
