BMW 0 Posted December 4, 1999 The Voodoo3 fix on Seldzar's site worked like a charm (thanks!) under RC3. I'm not finding any of the weird color problems that other people have been reporting with the V3, but I do find the game to be too dark. Has anyone with a Voodoo3 been able to crank the brightness setting very high? I seem to only be able to get two brightness settings: almost black and very very dark. Have people with GeForces/TNT/2 cards running under Win2000 had this problem? I'm probably going to be picking up one of these cards in the near future. I guess if all else fails, I'll head back to Win98 land, blue screens and all. ------------------ Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted December 4, 1999 Try editing your q3 config file and look for the gamma setting in there and adjust it manually. Share this post Link to post
BMW 0 Posted December 4, 1999 There was no gl_brightness setting as there was in the old Quake 2 config files, but I did manage to fix the program by turning off the hardware gamma (r_overridehwgamma or something like that = "1"). Problem solved . I think I might be imagining things but for some reason the game feels less responsive than in 98 also. I'll try to do a side-by-side comparison of this to check and see if 2k is any slower. Ok... I just did this after typing in the above: solid 58 fps on my V3-3000 at the fastest settings w/ 640x480 and lights turned to lightmaps (same as what I've been getting under 98) in both timedemos. I'm pretty happy with performance overall. Share this post Link to post
