mrdabomp 0 Posted December 7, 1999 I have the same problem, especially with q3a...I usually just tap escape twice Share this post Link to post
Igor 0 Posted December 7, 1999 I didn't think some1 would have that problem. Mine does the same in Tribes, Have to press the button sometimes 2 times to start/stop fire . I tryed changing the refreshing rate for mouse, tryed getting USB mouse, no help Does ANY1 know why? Mouse works fine in 98/Millennium. Share this post Link to post
Critofur 0 Posted December 7, 1999 I had this problem until I enabled "plug 'n play OS" in my M.B. BIOS. I think it was due to excessive IRQ sharing. I had the problem in Q3A mostly, some in UT and AOE2 - both with PS/2 and USB 3 button mice. -- Critofur Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted December 7, 1999 Well, I had the same issues when I had my logitech mouse with the mousewheel. Then I got me that new MS intellimouse explorer(the optical one) DAMN! is it nice, usb and all, however it still, on less frequent occasions, does the same as all you guys are reporting. In Q3 arena and UT the buttons stick On and need to be tapped in order to stop. It's much better with the usb mouse than with the standard PS/2. When I had my PS/2 I did up the sample rate to 100 and the input buffer to 200 and that worked for a bit but then it went back to it's same ol stickign ways. I really wonder exactly what is the problem? Share this post Link to post
spacey 0 Posted December 8, 1999 it has to do with dumb MS Direct Input I believe...I have problems with my MouseMan+ also, but it works fine if you don't change the controls in q3a once you're in, but once you do, you have to quit out and come back in. I am also just using the default win2k drivers...if I use the logitech ones I can no longer use the wheel in windows Share this post Link to post
jazTec 0 Posted December 10, 1999 Hey guys if this is a DXInput problem, has anyone tryed to get the new DX7? ( posted today ) Maybe that will fix this little problem. And if by some chance that it does fix the problem could you please tell me where to get the files. I am sorry that I am asking for the files, but I am not a 'offical' beta tester of win2k ( RC3 rocks ) and I can not get the files. ICQ me at 45431226 if you like. thanks=ew Share this post Link to post
Dan 0 Posted December 12, 1999 Yeah I am having the same problem with my Logitech Trackman Marble (PS/2) in Q3A. If anybody finds a fix I would like to know . What build is everybody running that is experiencing this? I'm using 2183. Share this post Link to post
String 0 Posted December 12, 1999 2183 also here.If it is a direct input problem (a) has anyone tried Dx7.0a off m$ beta site (im not a tester so cant get it) alternatively, in UT you can enable/disable directinput in the menu - i did this and no effect Share this post Link to post
zeflash 0 Posted December 13, 1999 On my machine, the pb comes from the keyboard rather than the mouse buttons. On some games (those using DirectInput I guess) the keys sometimes lock, therefore making impossible to play the game correctly. Ex: Pro Pinball fantastic journey Rally championship 2000. On RC2000, the sound is not working well either. Seems that at times it cycles on the same audio buffer block (same engine REV) and suddenly goes faster to catch up the delay. My system : RC3 2183 PIII500, TNT2, 256 RAM SBLive with plain MS drivers Share this post Link to post
bj mercer 0 Posted December 13, 1999 No problems w/ KB keys at all in Pinball or any other .. but did have problems w/ mouse (Logitech MouseMan -ya its old but i like it) in Quake3(final). Fixed by adjusting mouse sensitivity to about 60% ( had to find exact point by trial and error ) AND u have to restart game. Been working fine for all Frag. Also removed my SBlive and switched back to AWE64 SB ... no matter what, SBlive causes problems with other hardware. ------------------ Share this post Link to post
jazTec 0 Posted December 17, 1999 Hey has anyone tryed 2194 or 2195? or Retail DX7.0? I have been trying to get acouple of hours so I can install 2194, but why 2195 is out I just want my mouse back. =ew Share this post Link to post
DrSchmoe 0 Posted December 18, 1999 I originally posted this in "Hardware" but I thought I would do a repost over here... Well, Good news! I installed 2195, and lo and behold my key-sticking problems went away with Quake 3. I used DXDiag, and checked the DLLs, but they were still identical to 7.0. Whatever was causing the problem wasn't DX7. I am still not sure if it works flawlessly, my "MOUSEWHEELUP" and "MOUSEWHEELDOWN" are still intermitent, but all other functions seem okay. I played for roughly 4 hours, and had no sticking. Share this post Link to post
antrant 0 Posted December 19, 1999 Same here, no sticks after 2195. the wheel work o.k. over here however... Share this post Link to post
Jehova 0 Posted December 27, 1999 It's simply amazing how we have been assimilated. All of a sudden the mouse doesn't work. Nobody knows why. But then the error "goes away" with time and upgrades - and nobody still knows why. And now we don't care because it works. I had the same problem after upgrading to RC3, and the problem disapeared after upgrading to 2194. Alien versur Predator still has the problem though. Last night i installed a new graphics card. The result in behavior: when i fastforward in Windows media player it crashed, and shutdowns now take 5 minutes.. pfff. Good thing they don't make cars or spaceshuttles. Share this post Link to post
