RaeL 0 Posted December 28, 1999 I downloaded the newest Matrox drivers for the G400 in 2000. Q3 loads and starts playing, but locks up after no more than 10 second of play. Help. Share this post Link to post
Nasty Jax 0 Posted December 30, 1999 Not much help I know, but I get exactly the same problem running Unreal Tournament (W2K/Build 2195 & Matrox G400 drivers for W2K v5.00.07). It only locks up when running full screen though, works fine in a window. Appears to be something in the G400 drivers ? I run W2K on a Dual Celeron/BP6 board, you running single or multi-processor ? RaeL 0 Posted December 30, 1999 Well, my main machine is a BP6 with a 333 and 366 Celeron running at 110 bus ... so a 550 and 600. Nice board... in't it? But the machine with the G400 (the other has a Tnt2u) is a Tyan Trinity (Via 133a chipset)(This board badly needs a bios update, but it has AGP4x and Ata66 as well as 133 for when I get a P3 later). That really shouldn't matter, though. Share this post Link to post
Nasty Jax 0 Posted December 30, 1999 Yep, like the BP6 a lot, especially with W2K :-) Running 2x466MHz Celerons (not overclocked at the moment, but I've tested them both up to 580Mhz without problems) :-) I'm keeping an eye out for some new Matrox W2K drivers as the only likely fix for this though :-( Share this post Link to post
Nativespirit 0 Posted December 31, 1999 I don't have a G400, I have a Banshee but I did experience the same problem with Unreal Tournament (it played in a window not full screen). I found out it was becuase the hardware acceleration (in my case Glide in your case D3d) was not running. The window game you get is software mode. You need to enable the OpenGL or D3d for your card (I haven't found a D3d driver for my card yet, hopefully you can find one for yours). Share this post Link to post
