MarksmanX 0 Posted January 16, 2000 I know this sounds little dumb. But is there a way I can check if I have a non-parity, non-ECC memory module in Windows NT? I know a few years back there was a website that checked your whole system including the ram to tell you if you had parity or non-parity RAM. Thanks guys Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted January 16, 2000 If it 30pin DIP & 72pin SIMM Most like if you have home build system it will be non-parity, non-parity EDO, non-ECC memory module But if you got a Dell, HP they use parity, parity EDO, ECC, FPM memory module. 168pin DIMM Ok they are two main type's memory module unbuffered & buffered. 5v EDO or FPM buffered this for MAC or APPLE PC only. Home build system will use for x86 cpu use 3.3v non-parity unbuffered memory module. But if you got a Dell, HP they most like use 3.3v ECC or EDO parity buffered memory module. Allso like point out that ECC memory module are only good a server & cost a lot more. No this can't be done by software. Let say you got 1 30pin 1meg memory module look on chip it self may say Goldstar "GM71C4400AJ70 Search for this" 921A KOREA Sometime you find a stamp on the PCB board it self with white letter "GMM79000NS-70 Search for this" Share this post Link to post
