znake 0 Posted January 18, 2000 I can't get it to work in W2k. Whenever I try to play it that weird error message just pops up saying "nhl2k.exe has generated errors and will be closed" or something like that. Is it even possible to play this game in W2k? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! System: c366@550 Voodoo 3 2000 64mb SBLive! value znake Share this post Link to post
evil Homer 0 Posted January 18, 2000 It works on my system, Build 2195 and a Creative TNT2u using the newest 3.69 drivers, so it may be a problem with your install, or maybe your drivers. What version of Win2k you running? Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted January 19, 2000 It's called a poor crack for the pirated copy =) I have the same issues and I know the original works(as you said) The same is with Fifa2k. A proper cd crack would be necessary to get it to run...or hell my lord you could buy the game =) Share this post Link to post
hteles 0 Posted January 19, 2000 Hey man. I've got the original FIFA2K and don't work in W2K with my geforce and none of the other cards Share this post Link to post
dang 0 Posted January 19, 2000 Someone posted something about getting nhl2k to work in win2k earlier on the board. Do a search and you should find it. I think what that person did was import the reg entry for the game from 98 into win2k. The earlier post might explain more. sorry I can't remember. Share this post Link to post
znake 0 Posted January 19, 2000 evil Homer: My version is final. Seldzar: Hmm, actually that poor crack issue came to my mind too at the first time, but when I tried my ORIGINAL Half-Life the same error appears. What could be wrong with that then? Share this post Link to post
evil Homer 0 Posted January 19, 2000 Hmmm, most strange then. My retail version of NHL2000 installs without a problem, and runs quite nicely. Got a bit slow at 1024 with max detail, whereas under Win98 it runs quite smoothly. My retail copy of Fifa2k doesn't work though, although I tried Fifa99 from the Game Compatibility list which says work, but it fails to detect my 3D hardware. Must be something to do with your Voodoo 3 drivers! Are they the newest released ones? Have you tried going back to older versions? Share this post Link to post
znake 0 Posted January 20, 2000 I think I downloaded those drivers from Seldzar's website so they should be ok, right? But I don't think it's because of drivers 'cause it's a different error mesasge when a game can't detect a 3d hardware. I could be wrong though. Anyways, I think it's better wait official driver releases, then everything SHOULD be ok. You never know Share this post Link to post
