Heifetz 0 Posted January 24, 2000 I just installed UT, upgraded it to 405, and also installed the V3 drivers from Chameleon's site. Everything works ok, except, when I exit from UT using the menu option, it TOTALLY crashes Win2k. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't even respond, so I have to do a manual reset. I have found a way around it however, by minimizing the game, and closing it by right clicking and choosing close, but this is very annoying. I don't understand why it crashes win2k when it exits. I think I've read similiar problems for others here. Please post your experiences and maybe how you solved them! Heifetz Share this post Link to post
IceMan565 0 Posted January 26, 2000 Exactly!!! I have used the latest drivers from this site and I have the same exact problem. When I exit from UT, my screen shows these lines of color, like it can't switch back from Glide to the regular driver upon exiting. I can't see anything except for a few lines of color. I always do CTRl-Alt-Del, then pres my "S" key then the down arrow key and hit enter, which restarts your system win W2k. Still, that sucks bad!! God knows 3dfx won't get off their lazy asses and write a driver so I guess we're screwed for another couple of months. Any game that uses glide gets hosed. Some regular 2d games run terribly slow and Direct3d games run OK but not for UT. OpenGL and Direct3d won't even work in UT with my Voodoo 3 3000 with the drivers from this site. Let me know if anyone knows how to fix this problem!!! Thanks all!!! ;-) Share this post Link to post
Durt 2 Posted January 28, 2000 When in UT, make sure you are in 640 x 480 before you exit. Sucky work around, but it works. Share this post Link to post
Heifetz 0 Posted January 28, 2000 Hey, guess I'm lucky, because with the new v3 beta drivers from 3dfx, unreal exits without crashing now!!! I'm hoping that a few other games will work now as the resultt of these cool drivers. Heifetz Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted January 29, 2000 Or you could simply change from full screen to a window and then close the window with the x in the upper right corner =) Worked great for me.....now the new drivers don't crash. Share this post Link to post
