news 28 Posted October 5, 2010 Howdy Snowy fans, I'm happy to announce Snowy 0.3 "Maltese", a release that's just-about-good-enough to power the Tomboy Online alpha! While we figure out what's up with our server and get invites out to folks, I figured we should share the latest code, if for no other reason than the new support for Django 1.2. As with 0.2, this is alpha quality software and we don't recommend trusting your important data to it, or using it on a public server. But we're totally about to do it anyway! If you're interested in joining us for the Tomboy Online private alpha or the public beta, please fill out this smashing survey: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dFZleG05V196b3g4VUFSTHhzcTRFMmc6MQ For the uninitiated, Snowy is a web-based viewer for your Tomboy notes. It's written in Python using the Django web framework, and is licensed under the AGPL. Tomboy Online is a deployment of the Snowy software on GNOME servers, intended to provide free note sync and online note access to all Tomboy users. Please check out our website here: http://live.gnome.org/Snowy You can download the latest release here: http://download.gnome.org/sources/snowy/0.3/snowy-0.3.tar.bz2 This cycle is shaping up to be very exciting as we work toward our goal of releasing Snowy 1.0 and the Tomboy Online public beta in time for GNOME 3.0. Expect some awesome to be dropping in git, especially around the time of the Snowy Hackfest (overlapping Boston Summit) in November. Snowy 0.3, "Maltese" features: * Support for Django 1.2 (#629715) * Don't let OpenID users attempt to change their password * Add URI_SCHEME to local_settings.py (#629717) * Fix XSL when not running Snowy from git checkout dir Contributors to this release include: Sandy Armstrong, Jeff Schroeder You can see where we're planning on going by checking out our bug list: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=snowy All help is welcome! We'd especially appreciate help from web designers to improve our templates. Please join us on snowy-list, or in #snowy on GIMPNet, and we'll help you get all set up. Thanks for your support, Sandy _______________________________________________ Share this post Link to post
