It isnt really a joke in theory what it does is take the packet size and adjusts it to what your modem can handle that way it doesnt have to do any extra waiting or something like that. 576 mtu I think. See by default windows is setup for lan which is 1500. Dunno how much your speed will improve but it kindof makes sense. I used something like that awhile back with my 56k and I couldnt really tell but I didnt really take the time to test it with a kilobyteometer or anything. Share this post Link to post
