gbraught 0 Posted March 6, 2000 I have read all the post on GK3 and have copied over the GK3.exe from the CD. I thought the game was going to start but then got following error: No DirectDraw drivers detected. Make sure DirectX is installed properly. I then ran dxdiag.exe which showed I have DirectX 7.0 (4.07.00.0700). I ran the test utilities and everything tested ok. Problem may be my video card, 3DFX Voodoo3 3000 with Driver Version 5.0.2195.17 (newest drivers from 3DFX). Has anyone got this to work successfully with the Voodoo3 3000? Does anyone have a work around or a fix for this error? Thanks in advance. Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted March 6, 2000 Did the "Display" tab in DXDIAG show Direct3D to be enabled? Also, do any other DirectX games work on your machine? ------------------ SuperMicro P6DBS (dual UW-SCSI) BIOS 2.2, 2*Celery 300a @ 450Mhz, 384MB PC100 RAM SCSI-A=4.3Gb+9Gb, SCSI-B=Tosh32x CD-ROM, Yamaha4416 CD-RW, Iomega ZIP100, IDE1=4.3Gb IBM EtherJet 10/100 NIC PCI + Nortel ADSL "modem" Matrox G400 DH 32Mb AGP + Quantum3D Voodoo2 SLI PCI (CL TNT1 AGP on a shelf) SoundBlaster Live PCI (not Value) Win2K build 2195 Retail (not 120-day eval) Share this post Link to post
gbraught 0 Posted March 8, 2000 Thanks for responding. I don't play a lot of games on my box so I had to install some to be able to answer your questions. The answer is, it depends. I can run games such as "the Sims" but when I tried to run Star Wars Racer I received an identical error. Under the Display tab of Dxdiag, DirectX Features section, DirectDraw Acceleration is Enabled. Direct3D is not available and AGP support is not available. Hopefully this answers your questions so you can make some conclusions. Thanks Gary Share this post Link to post
