norrissm 0 Posted March 9, 2000 I'm trying to run NFS 4 High Stakes under windows 2000 final release. I got it installed and all using the instructions on this site but the NFS auto-patcher told me this....."03/08/2000, 23:11:58: STATUS: Checking for updates to NFS HS... 03/08/2000, 23:12:04: STATUS: 2 file(s) will be downloaded for a total of 1856523 byte(s). 03/08/2000, 23:12:05: ERROR: D:\Develop\NPS\NPSPatch20\Common\connection.cpp (47) File: |Å,3080448." Is there any way to fix this......W/o it I cant run the game b/c win2k says it's not a valid win32 application. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
John Bucchino 0 Posted March 9, 2000 Don't waste your time, even if you get the game to work it is buggy as hell and the graphics are poor.Set up your system to dual boot and run the game in win 98. Share this post Link to post
norrissm 0 Posted March 9, 2000 That would be great except I want nothing to do with Windows 98. I nuked it and don't intend to put it back on my computer. Does anyone know if this is an error on the autopatcher site or a problem with win2k final realease? Would there be a wy to update the game manually if I got the files from somebody who already updated the game and got it working. Thanks. norrissm 0 Posted March 10, 2000 I got the newest patch off www.earacing.com and now when I try to run the game, even though the cd is in the drive, it says to please insert the correct CD-ROM. Part of the prob may be that its a burned copy, but I'm not sure. Share this post Link to post
John Bucchino 0 Posted March 11, 2000 I don't think its going to help, but you can get the manually install patch at www.3dfiles.com. I tried it- doesn't help. Share this post Link to post
