quake3 and smp

right i know the command r_smp 1 , but the machine locks up 3 seconds into quake 3. works fine without smp but still id like to get it working. any ideas??

Same thing here. But does not lock up after 3 sec, but rather randomly, sometimes allow me to be in for more than a minute, sometimes hang even before I see my menu.

 

Do you run RC5 Client? Shut it down, it might help sometimes.

Driver 3.78 have reputition to be best SMP compatible,
