final fantasy 7 and win2k...

Recommended Posts

does anybody know how i can get final fantasy 7 to not crash under win2k? at first i did a standard install and it crashed right after the intro movie. then i did a full install and it runs until the first battle with a couple of guards and it always crashes back to desktop with an error sometime during that scene... i realize that its incompatible on the list but i was just wondering if there is some patch for it, because i really want to play it and i dont really want to bother with a dual boot only for a couple of games.... thank you in advance... confused

yea. it was great to hear there was a patch. it would have been nicer to know the location though... i finally just reformatted my computer and now i am dual booting 98 and 2k. i also had some other stuff that i couldnt run under win2k, but it would still be nice to have the patch so i wouldnt have to restart so much. same with janes stuff. i have usaf, and i heard there was a patch for it as well. no where to be found. anybody know of the secret location of these?

Eidos have said that they will no longer be supporting FF7. This includes making it compatible with Win2k. It's the only reason I'm still using a dual boot system :-(

there were about 3 or 4 reasons i decided to reformat and dual boot. this was one of the biggest ones though since i never got to play through the game under 98. oh well. dual booting doesnt really seem to be a problem for me. everything still runs smoothly but 98 seems to take a lot longer to start up than it used to. i also have some com port problems and mouse problems in win2k but i'm sure it's unrelated...
