news 28 Posted April 29, 2011 Everything USB is pleased to announce our latest review on IOGEAR USB HD Video Adapter. For a small but very important portion of the consumer marketplace, the need for multiple monitors on their systems is a must have option. Sadly, while this small niche is willing to pay good money for a laptop with multiple output options, their choices are extremely limited. This is why companies like IOGEAR make and market devices such as their USB HD video adapter (which is DisplayLink certified). A long while ago, my colleague looked an earlier version of this device and walked away moderately impressed. Today, I will take a long hard look at the new and improved version which boasts 1080p, 32-bit colour depth resolution to see if IOGEAR and DisplayLink has worked out all the bugs. http://www.everythingusb.com/iogear-usb-hd-video-adapter-21132.html The Good: + Lightweight + Plug and play + Inexpensive + Supports up to 1080p, 32-bit resolution + DisplayLink certified The Bad: - USB 2.0 bottleneck results in less than perfect images in all scenarios - Does not support 1920 x 1200 resolution - Will result in mouse lag when watching video - When using it, Windows will default to pushing audio out over HDMI even if your monitor does not have speakers!
