repairs online 0 Posted April 30, 2011 I have a 4gb unbranded USB stick which I am unable to access. The control IC is an AU6986 and the two memory ICs are: SAMSUNG 822 (K9GAG08U0M). Using a program called USBVIEW came up with the following info, see below. I recognize some of the info only. When inserting the usb into a computer, the light on the usb begins to flash ON and OFF and then stays constantly ON. On a normal usb, the light should stay OFF and flash ON and OFF when info is being read or written to it. Can I assume from the info below that the control IC is OK or partially OK (can this situation exist?) USB is detected but showing zero bytes. The message that comes up when trying to open the USB is: "Please insert a disk into drive F:" or what ever drive is assigned to the USB port. Else where, it has being suggested the MBR (Master Boot Record) may be corrupt. Any suggestions how to access the data on the USB, tries several programs, without success, the light on the USB stays on.
