news 28 Posted May 20, 2011 The latest development version of libdmapsharing, 2.9.10, is available for download at: http://www.flyn.org/projects/libdmapsharing/ Libdmapsharing is a library you may use to access, share and control the playback of media content using DMAP (DAAP, DPAP & DACP). The library presently supports Linux and other POSIX-based systems. It is written in C using GObject and libsoup. The DMAP family of protocols are used by products such as Apple iTunes, Apple iPhoto and the Roku SoundBridge family to share media such as music and photos. Libdmapsharing's 2.9 series will soon become a stable 3.0 release. Some of the new features of this version are: - Support for the Vala programming language - Support for version 2 of Apple's Remote application, allowing control of a libdmapsharing application from an iOS device - Support for discovering devices that advertise a _raop._tcp service; this may couple with the RAOP support in GStreamer or PulseAudio to play to an AirPlay audio device - Client- and server-side service discovery using Mac OS X's native dns-sd library (in addition to Avahi support on POSIX) _______________________________________________ Share this post Link to post
