Open GL mode not supported?

Recommended Posts

Ok everyone, strange problem...

I have Win2K running on a dual P3-500's. Video provided by a V770 Ultra and 2 Diamond Monster3d II's.

Until recently I was running Half-Life (Counter Strike) just fine under the 3DFX Mini Driver at up to 1024X768. I could also switch to the default OpenGL driver and run there too. I installed the Detonator 2 drivers and after that the default OpenGL driver would not work, but the 3DFX driver would still work. It would freeze the game upon loading so I would have to hard boot. (e.g the reset button)

I wasn't too heart broken about that, I like the 3DFX driver better anyway; however last night HL locked up on me and when I got back in and tried to run, it told me that now the 3DFX Open GL driver was not supported by my video card. So I tried the Default OpenGL driver and now IT worked.

My question is why won't HL recognize my Monster 3dII's anymore? I've tried reinstalling all the drivers and Half Life and Counterstrike. I've removed and reinstalled the Monster3d II's but it still says that it's not supported. Is there some sort of registry entry that might need to be changed?

I am running the newest versions of Halflife and Counterstrike. (1.1.0.1 and 6.6)

Any help would be appreciated.
