Thief 2 + Liveware 3.0 in Win2k?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been able to get Thief 2 to work in Win2k with the new "improved" Liveware 3.0 drivers?

Works fine here. Very fine. Of course I didn't install Liveware 3.0....just the drivers.

The only problem I have with Thief 2 in Windows 2000 is that I only have 128m of RAM.

So if Windows 2000 is currently using 131mg of RAM and I load up Thief 2 then occasionaly

the game will freeze (usually after loading a saved game) for a couple of seconds and try

to get some RAM.

Are you playing Thief 2 with "Hardware Accelleration" turned on in the game settings?

It's not BSODing?

What is your "hardware accelleration' slider set to in dxdiag? Is it full (all the way to the right)?

If I turn hardware accel on in the game, I get a BSOD as soon as a sound tries to play. This is on a fresh install of Liveware3 (never installed LW2)

Funny, I just came to NTcompatible to post the same topic!

Whenever I turn on hardware acceleration and try to play the game, or "test" the sound, my computer restarts or gives me a stop error.

This happened with both releases of LiveWare. I don't know what's going on either. I must say, I'm pretty disappointed with Creative right now. I would have gladly waited another month for a flawless LiveWare that fully optimizes my SBLive!
