DirectX 8.0

Ok, now Windows ME is out...any idea when MS is gonna release DirectX 8.0 for the rest of their line (2k, 9x, etc)??

 

From what I've seen, its a hell of a lot better than 7....

DX 8 is still in the beta 2 stage. It WAS supposed to come out this summer but it seems that they had some problems or some shit and its not out yet. I assume it will be out by the end of Q4/2000, not sure though.
