Kyguy 0 Posted October 7, 2000 I have heard of people getting this to work, but in glide only. Is this because everything else is using the NT based DirectX? The error for all non-voodoo owners is "This application cannot run in NT" nothing works to get around the NT prompt too Maybe DX8 will fix? ------------------ Moo In case of an emergency, break glass, scream, bleed to death. BladeRunner 0 Posted October 7, 2000 Well I can't get Carmageddon 2 to run under Win2000. I get the 'Sorry this application isn't supported under Windows 2000' message. Recommendation: Go out and buy Carmageddon TDR2000. It takes Carmageddon 2, adds some funky things, looks 50x better and is fully supported under Win2k. It's also quite cheap, only £19.99 here in the UK. ------------------ PIII 700E, ASUS CUSL2, 512MB PC100 RAM (Hyundai), Matrox G400MAX, SB Live! BladeRunner 0 Posted October 8, 2000 You didn't like TDR2000?? What is there not to like? If you like Carmageddon 2, it's the same mix of fun and mayhem but with much better looking graphics. There is no way you can like one and not the other. What is it you don't like about TDR2000? ------------------ PIII 800EB, ASUS CUSL2, 512MB PC100 RAM (Hyundai), Matrox G400MAX, SB Live! Down8 0 Posted October 8, 2000 If it is just the same game, why would I what to pay the $40 for it, when I just bought Carmageddon2 for $10? And, from the srceenshots I've seen, the graphics aren't really that much better. the textures are nicer, but the graphics are still kinda blocky and not much better than C2. -bZj Share this post Link to post
Kyguy 0 Posted October 8, 2000 Sorry I'm a lazy american, I don't like the amount of time you get (less time to screw around) and hitting peds gives you only 2 seconds, compared to 15 in carmageddon 2... It may look a little bit better (only the cars in my opinion) but my friend also keeps saying the control sucks ------------------ Moo In case of an emergency, break glass, scream, bleed to death. BladeRunner 0 Posted October 8, 2000 I guess we are all entitled to our own opinions. When I said same game I meant that it has the same mix of 'splatting' & destruction. Aye you get less time per ped now but that just makes the game more of a challenge. Who didn't complete Carmageddon2 really quickly becuase within 2 minutes of starting you had enough time to go and make a coffee The controls have just been bought up to date to reflect the surface your driving on. Drive across country and the car bounces all over the place. I'm not trying to sell this game, it really is just good fun. Share this post Link to post
Kyguy 0 Posted October 8, 2000 lol I know your not trying to sell it, hell I already have it, I'm just saying I'm the curious type that likes to explore, not spend the whole friggin game trying to find peds to kill just so I can find more friggin peds to kill ;( it's kinda sad when I can try to go through EVERY DAMN CHECKPOINT as fast as I can and not pass the level! (and trust me, I can drive) ------------------ Moo In case of an emergency, break glass, scream, bleed to death. jdulmage 0 Posted October 8, 2000 I ain't suppose to be here anyways.. TDR 2000, play it in Free Driving mode then, and turn off the Timer if you want to drive around a bunch, it makes life easier.. remember, I never showed up here Share this post Link to post
Kyguy 0 Posted October 8, 2000 Good idea, if I want to spend the rest of my life playing Hollywood! ;( oh wait just do some races to get a new map! duh! been there *tried* that always time out on the map where you go through the mine tunnel ------------------ Moo In case of an emergency, break glass, scream, bleed to death. jdulmage 0 Posted October 8, 2000 nah sorry, when you beat levels in TDR 2000 Game mode, they show up in Free Driving, just use the arrows to move them up and down. I would just use the cheats to enable all the levels, then use Free Driving to play them, that's all I do.. I wasn't here Share this post Link to post
