Heavy Metall - FAKK2: Can't find cd!!!

Recommended Posts

I can install the game just fine, but when I go to play it, to start a new game, It asks for the cd! I thought it was because it wasn't in the firt CD drive, but when i changed the drive letters it still didn't work! Even after a restart!

grrrrrr

Any ideas?

Did you buy it?

It sounds to me if you dl'ed it off the net, and haven't got the right name for the cd-image ISO.

I could be wrong of course.

I actually did buy it so unfortunatly you are wrong. I'll keep that in mind though for the occasional game I do download!

The install had died before, and something died. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it and now it works perfectly

One V1.1 motherboards many of hte EC10 capacitors (top, near the sockets) is fualty. It regulates one of the lines of current (5v I think, or maybe 3.3v), and when it doesn't work right, the system like sto restart at random points in time, with no reason!

Well it was touch and go for a while but the patient is doing good, running table. It was hard, the cap didn't wanna come out, then the foils lifted, almost off, was lucky they didn't. It's all good now though!

Plus I'll be getting my golden orbs soon, everything is finally coming together!

I ahve the same trouble with The Sims: Livin' Large. Installs just fine (orignal CD) but when I go to play it asks for the CD. After much experimenting I have found that the game apparently expects an IDE based CDRom because I can install AND play from my 4x cdrom but I can only install it from my 32x SCSI cdrom. Maybe similar to the message I get when I install Quake II and it telss me that there is no cdrom installed but still allows me to install the game.

I'll go through the story so everyone understands

When I installed the game I had 2 cdroms, and it installed just fine, I installed it from the second one (windows reversed my cdrom letters for some reason...) and it all worked fine, but it wouldn't let me play for lack of cd. I tried palyign in both cds, nothing. I tried unplugging one cd, then the other, still nada.

I uninstalled the game, and reinstalled, it worked fine. Before i operated on the BP6, it woudl restart at random points, and it did just that during the first install, and fuxored it up I guess. I dunno.

Both drives are now plugged in and it's running fine, I also changed the letters back to the proper way (stupid windows change my drive leters!)
