Mike C 0 Posted October 25, 2000 I just got Red Alert two and am trying to install it on my Laptop. Sony Vaio PCG-F590K Neo Magig 256zx video card Windows 2000 The install program wont run, complaining that it can't find ddraw.dll (which is in my winntsystem32 directory). When i run the trouble shooting program included with the game, it can not detect that direct x is installed. All of the info i have been able to find says that directx 7 is installed with 2000. Any thoughts or ideas on how to get this game to run? Thanks... Mike Chambers mesh@speakeasy.org Share this post Link to post

Mike C 0 Posted October 28, 2000 MY problem was my video drivers. I contacted the company and they sent me some new drivers. Everything works fine now. mike chambers mesh@speakeasy.org Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted October 28, 2000 Don't forget to download the patch. I don't know what it does as I don't have the game. I just noticed one was available on FilePlanet. Share this post Link to post
ThC 129 0 Posted October 29, 2000 im a big RTS fan, once you guys get it throw up a review of it because i was going to get Tiberium Sun but the reviews werent so hot. I liked the original RA so if this one is any good i might consider getting it. Share this post Link to post
brainsoft 0 Posted November 1, 2000 Definitely, go buy the game. If you liked the original, you'll not be desappointed!!! ------------------ brainsoft, Xi Base & JJR512.com Co-Administrator. STi Sev 0 Posted November 1, 2000 uhh guys. fair warning I had this game the first day it came out. Played it (movies skipped and movie sounds skipped) but other than that ran flawlessly. Anyways, A LOT of people have had problems with it. I'd go to www.westwood.com 's message board and check it out! Share this post Link to post
SnowHawk 0 Posted November 7, 2000 Uhh I have the game but it crashes after playing awhile. I have Celeron 366@523 voodoo3 3000 192mb ram windows 2000 I think it is a problem with the voodoo3 because It crashed on my friends computer with a voodoo3 2000. He uses Win ME.. This also happens to me in Homeworld: Cataclysm I think I used OpenGL for it. Anyways those games are awesome but they crash for no reason after playing for awhile.. There is no stupid Win2k Dr.watson Log either... BladeRunner 0 Posted November 7, 2000 I've had the game since Saturday. Only one issue has come up: Sound a little patchy in some of the cut-scenes. Not really a problem as the mission is there in text format too. Playing in 1024x768, I've noticed a couple of slow-down's but there was a lot going on on screen at the time. No crashes etc. If you liked the original RA, you'll love RA2. ------------------ PIII 800EB, ASUS CUSL2, 512MB PC133 (CAS2) RAM (Hyundai), Matrox G400MAX, SB Live!
