ianaston 0 Posted December 1, 2000 Anybody here have any info on running games in a terminal services / citrix environment? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Share this post Link to post
krisdorey 0 Posted December 2, 2000 The simple answer is .. don't.. The reason citrix and TS work so well is due to the ICA compression. However the drawback is that due to .bmp and the such not compressing well, any games played would be incredibly slow.. Trust me, Ive tried.. ------------------ Regards Kristian Dorey AMIAP Share this post Link to post
MoreLight 0 Posted December 2, 2000 Microsoft specifically states that Terminal Services can not handle multimedia intensive applications. That would include games. You will probably be able to get by with 2d games, but anything that runs in 3D is out of the question. Do what I do on the network and create DFS links to the games on the server. It works pretty well for all but the most hardware intensive of games. Make sure you use roaming user profiles located on the server also. You will still need a decent video card and ram on the client however. Share this post Link to post
