bsmith08734 0 Posted February 19, 2001 I'm trying to install Boggle on my Windows 2K desktop, but it won't fully install. When it gets to the DirectX files, it goes from 99% to 100% installed without copying the files. I have DirectX 8 installed and the latest video drivers. The game won't run without the DirectX files. Any idea on how to force this install? It installs properly on W98 with DirectX already installed, but not with W2K. Any help will be appreciated. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted February 19, 2001 Any time a game wants to install Directx. Don't let it. Chances are it won't do anything anyway but alot of time the prog will error out. So if it let's you choose to install directx and it's 7.0 then don't do it! Share this post Link to post
bsmith08734 0 Posted February 19, 2001 The problem is that the game won't run. The FAQ mentions the error message, and suggests a problem with Windows Media Player, which I also had the latest version of. It also mentions outdated audio and/or video codecs. This happens to a friend of mine as well, running a totally different hardware configuration. According to the software list, it's supposed to run "great" on W2K. Share this post Link to post
