=== Xubuntu, Kubuntu, and Edubuntu 12.04 will be LTS ===

 

Ubuntu 12.04 will be an LTS (Long Term Support) release, but it's up

to all the official flavors themselves to decide whether each will be

an LTS release or not. The Technical Board approved plans for at 3

year LTS for Xubuntu and 5 year LTS for Kubuntu and Edubuntu during

their meeting on January 9th. Details, including links to each

Jeff Kramer with HP announces the publishing of a step-by-step guide

for installing OpenStack Compute aka Nova. "This tutorial is for

developers, who would like to set up a compute machine on local

servers before deploying to the public cloud," writes Kramer.

FOSDEM (The Free and Open source Software Developers' European

Meeting) will take place on February 4-5 in Brussels. In the past

devrooms were kept to a half to full day, however this year FOSDEM

combines Virtualization, Xen and OpenStack devroom requests into one

devroom to be open for the 2 full days of the event.
