whoisurdaddy 0 Posted April 11, 2001 I was having problem playing Need For Speed 5 Multiplayer (LAN) on my Windows 2000 machine. I am just wondering if anyone get it to work on Win2k? Basically, when I play LAN game, at the beginning of the race it would say "3" "2" "1" then I would get kick out to desktop and get this stupid message "Movdfl-Invalid Shape Type #######". By the way, I have no problem playing Single player. Just multiplayer mode. [This message has been edited by whoisurdaddy (edited 11 April 2001).] Share this post Link to post
X-AL 0 Posted April 13, 2001 Yup, I can play NFS Porsche in all modes. Single, multiplayer (LAN) and of course online. How did I get NFS to run: I didn´t deleted the gimme.dll as mostly suggested, but set up a fixed size page file. Share this post Link to post
BanditXL 0 Posted April 19, 2001 I tried to set a fixed page file, mine is set to 768 MB but it still hung. Could anyone post how too set it right. Share this post Link to post
rgodart 0 Posted April 19, 2001 Make you pagefile smaller. I set it to 384 MB on my machine and nfs runs fine. Share this post Link to post
whoisurdaddy 0 Posted April 21, 2001 So leave gimme.dll alone??? I tried that. I have my Virtual Memory set to 1GB (fixed size) but the game hang at the intro. I will try setting the virtual memory low rgodart said. I will post back with the result. Share this post Link to post
whoisurdaddy 0 Posted April 21, 2001 I tried both 384mb and 1000 mg of Physical memory setting and they both didn't work for me. Oh well, that just mean more time for Counter-Strike. Share this post Link to post
BanditXL 0 Posted April 22, 2001 Resizeing the pagefile worked for me I set it to 256MB minimum and 500MB maximum Share this post Link to post
