Unreal Tournament + Weird sound

I jstu recently got myself a SB Live Value adn thought, GREAT now I can enjoy better sound in my games and such. For the most part, this is true, but UT gives me the shits! Sound works fine; most of it.... I can't hear the announcer, and can only just make out my own gun fire sounds, sometimes not at all. I've messed around with the advanced settings and the likes, but can;t get it any better. Can anyone relate or help??

Never say DIE! I did a bit of hunting, and came up with an official EAX patch for UT!! it works great. So all you UT buffs with EAX cards can now utilise them fully.
