Respondents come from across the globe and show it being used for a broad range of workloads. Results show popularity of the extended support releases, for the first time seeing KVM overtake Xen as the preferred virtualization technology for Ubuntu (with VMWare remaining at the top) and while there is "significant interest but the use of Ubuntu Server on bare metal remains the primary use case for most users today."
