Admiral LSD 0 Posted October 7, 2002 I have Postfix (a *nix email server) configured, compiled and intalled to the point where its sending and receiving messages which I can check with a remote POP3 client but one thing is still bothering me: When Postfix bounces a message it returns a message like this: Code: This is the Postfix program at host blah.I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returnedbelow could not be delivered to one or more destinations. For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster@blah>If you do so, please include this problem report. You candelete your own text from the message returned below. The Postfix program Now on my system it neglects to add the domain too the address for the postmaster in the bounce message. Does anyone have any clue whats wrong? The postmaster account is aliased to root by default but since Postfix won't deliver mail to root you have to alias root to another local account which I've done, to no effect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Share this post Link to post
Admiral LSD 0 Posted October 14, 2002 n/m a bit more googling turned this up: http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/postfix/2001-08/0073.html My ISP must be using an older version because their bounce messages show the full address. Share this post Link to post
