Redwin 0 Posted February 4, 2000 This is what I want to do: Set up a network name, and assign an IP to it on my computer such that my computer will go to that IP if i attempt to connect to that network name, instead of trying to find it through DNS. Example, test.bob.com most likely does not exist as a registerd DNS, but if i have an IP i want to go to, and i want my computer to go to that IP when i type in test.bob.com, instead of giving me a DNS error, who would I do this under win2k? I know i could do it in Linux, and I think in win98, but can't find an option for manually defining hosts in win2k. I have build 2195. thanks in advance for any help. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted February 5, 2000 I just did a search of my NT directory and I saw a Hosts file in there.... ------------------ C:\Dos C:\Dos\Run \Run\Dos\Run Share this post Link to post
