Deider 0 Posted February 13, 2000 My printer shows up in Device Manager under other devices with a ? next to it even tho I installed it thru the printer icon in control panel. Could this be because I have it piggy backed to a parallel zip drive? Share this post Link to post
Shrink 0 Posted February 13, 2000 Win2k didn't autodetect your printer? Uninstall the one under other devices, click scan for hardware changes in device manager, and see if it is redetected. Deider 0 Posted February 14, 2000 Sorry. The printer is a Lexmark 5700. Windows 2000 autodetected it and placed it in the "other" catagory. Properties says the device is working properly, but when I go to the printer icon in the control panel it's not there. This printer has a 2 floppy set for installing drivers and a control panel of it's own. One set of floppies for Win98 and one for NT 4.0. I ran the setup for NT and it works perfectly, but the device is still listed in the device manager. It's not causing problems, I was just curious if it was caused by the piggy backing thing with the zip drive. Share this post Link to post
