String 0 Posted February 15, 2000 Not entirely topical i dont think but here goes anyway. Currently my LAN has a linux server providing the usual network services and NAT translation/ IP Masquerading to the internet for the LAN. W2K server can do all this but a few things im not clear about. Linux PC has no monitor but its possible to control everything remotely via telnet or an X-Session. Is this possible in W2K ? Also i dont want to use Dial on demand to do problems with accidental dial - but i do want users to be able to start a connection from their own desktop PCs if they need it. With linux this is easy but can W2K do it ? Sorry for the questions that may be slightly off topic. Share this post Link to post
T-BoNe 0 Posted February 16, 2000 Yes remote control of server settings is possible with the MMC. You can add whatever needed snap-ins and save the console and then load it on other machines for remote administration. I suggest a book from MS press on win2k pro for details.
