Win2k and Linux

I have a Linux server, and I used to connect my windows computer to this server using SAMBA. But I can't seem to get it working with Win2k professional, does anybody know how to get this working?

With win9x I had to change something in the registry but with win2k this option does not excist in the registry.....

Where in the registry? There are certain NT registry key you can't see without taking certain steps...

you need to enable clear text passwords ...REGEDIT4

 

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation\parameters]

"enableplaintextpassword"=dword:00000001

 

that will do the trick

 

i can email a file to you that will make the registry entry bu it's basically the above

i have samba configured to use encrypted passwords and it works fine for me. I am also using security = domain ...
