remulus 0 Posted February 17, 2000 I have a Linux server, and I used to connect my windows computer to this server using SAMBA. But I can't seem to get it working with Win2k professional, does anybody know how to get this working? With win9x I had to change something in the registry but with win2k this option does not excist in the registry..... Share this post Link to post

slick 0 Posted February 18, 2000 you need to enable clear text passwords ...REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation\parameters] "enableplaintextpassword"=dword:00000001 that will do the trick i can email a file to you that will make the registry entry bu it's basically the above chris Share this post Link to post
