Win2k Won't Shut Down!

Recommended Posts

Help, I everytime I try to shutdown I get to the "You can Shut Down Your Computer" screen but my computer doesn't power off. I first tried to disable things (everything at on point), tried a differnt graphics card (Riva TNT) I normally have a Gullimont GeForce256, and I reinstalled win2k (several Times) with the win2k drivers and my others. I also got the updates. I know my computer can shut down cause it does with no problem on win98 and millenium. What is happening. Does anyone have any ideas. Here is my hardware list:

----------------------------------

Asus P2L97 Motherboard

Maxtor HD 10gig

SBlive X-gamer

Kingston Network Card (ISA)KNE20-i think

Gullimont GeForce

Winnov Vidium Capture Card

Creative DVD dxr2 w/ encoder card.

------------------------------------

ANy help would be greatly appricated. Thx

Sure littered these posts everywhere didn't you <g>?

If your computer was detected as Standard PC, go to Power Options in Control Panel and see if there is an APM tab there. If there is, select Use APM (or words to that effect) and then reboot. That should do it.
