thibs 0 Posted February 24, 2000 Ok, What is annoying me (among other things!!) is to be unable to transfer files from my Rio to my PC. And for the rest, the guys who did write this software must be aliens 'cause I can hardly get into the logic of this tool !!! It's a shame that a such wonderful piece of hardware such as the Rio 500 gets limited by the sofware that comes with it.. But the Rio is so cool... ------------------ Config: Dual celeron 400 on BP6 128 Mo SDRAM PC 100 Rage fury 32Mo, SB Live Player IBM 20Go U66,DVD A103S,Yamaha 4*4*16*: IDE Win2000 Final Share this post Link to post

Drak0 0 Posted February 24, 2000 thibs, hrmm... so u don't have a problem w/ it crashing at all?? did you first install rioport 2.1? or did u just get 2.0 and install that? I tried to get 2.1 to work first before I was sent 2.0. my config is: abit bp6 dual c550 tnt2-U mx300 realtek NIC AMD NIC tekram SCSI card (390 u/w) hauppauge winTV (which is a ***** to get working w/ the other cards... my mb is full and it doesn't like to share) well, i hope this helps me find the problem! -Drak0 Share this post Link to post
ThC 129 0 Posted February 24, 2000 there is another freeware program that works with RIOs. I would try it but DMM has yet to send me an RMA number to return my RIO. www.streambox.com Share this post Link to post
Drak0 0 Posted February 24, 2000 ThC 129, That software would be great except it's for the rio300 not the 500 but thanks! O well... i can get the rioport to *kinda* work... so i guess that's good enuf -Drako Share this post Link to post

Stormrider 0 Posted February 25, 2000 Thanks, I got it. And I think I solved the crashing problem. It would crash on me everytime I try to add songs to the database, but only when I try it when I have "Devices" selected. When I select "Playlist" then Add Songs or Search for them it doesn't crash on me. Share this post Link to post
thibs 0 Posted February 25, 2000 OK, so mine is not crashing and I installed 2.1.5 previously... Does anyone know how to use the "save to PC" option to upload MP3 in my PC ?? Share this post Link to post
Drak0 0 Posted February 26, 2000 Sh-it!!! I just found out that this POS software can't handle mp3s encoded at 192 stereo!!!! I can't believe it.... I just ripped metallica (black album) at 192 stereo and i can't upload it That is my favorite work-out album!!! That sucks because the major release groups are starting to release at 192 stereo... richi 0 Posted February 27, 2000 Can anyone send me a copy of Audio Manager 2.0? I've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks now. So near, yet so far. I'll post it on an FTP site and announce the location, if someone sends it to me. Thanks in advance, richi <richi@hp.com> Share this post Link to post

thibs 0 Posted February 29, 2000 Hi Braden King, Do you have USB working properly under W2K ? is your Rio recognised OK in the device Manager ? Make sure you have the MDMUSer.dll in the /WINNT/SYSTEM32 Folder. ------------------ Config: Dual celeron 400 on BP6 128 Mo SDRAM PC 100 Rage fury 32Mo, SB Live Player IBM 20Go U66,DVD A103S,Yamaha 4*4*16*: IDE Win2000 Final Share this post Link to post
Braden King 0 Posted March 1, 2000 Thanks for replying! I got it running after some registry hacking. I cleared out all the entries referring to the Rio and reinstalled from scratch and now it works great!! Thanks everyone! Now lets all lean on Diamond to make a 2000 version of the RAM so it doesn't crash every 2 seconds!! Braden. Share this post Link to post
