Adaptec DirectCD 2.5/3.0?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Can anyone manage to get DirectCD 2.5/3.0 running on Win2K? I got the info. from Adaptec that DirectCD isn't compatible with Win2K, but I need to make copy of some files through CDRW and DirectCD is the only way to copy stuff (for me anyway). Thanks

However, if you have the acpi hal installed you will lose hibernation.

2.5d worked fine for me in Win2k final, but lost hibernation and standby.

DirectCD 3.0 works fine for me using the instructions in the post before. The only thing is that it still thinks the CD is in there after you eject it. Could just be one of my problems

Then do you know from the experience of others using the hacked Directcd 3 whether or not they lose hibernation? Thanks.

Guys, thanks for the information. I'm having a problem running Easy CD 4.0. I can't make copy of any CDs. I always get the function is not supported in your recorder. Well, I have a HP8100I and I know it's supported. I tried to burn at 1X, 2X, 4X, no success so far. I got the latest ASPI layer from Adaptec and I used the checking utility to make sure the ASPI is working properly.

I guess I need to get this sorted out before I put DirectCD.

Try reinstalling Adaptec EZ CD 4 then install the latest aspi layer 4.60 then try. Also make sure you have the 4.01 patch for ez cd 4.

simon i had the same problem when i went to 4.0 its all adaptecs fault they stoped supporting my older cd-rom reader it was a toshiba 12x scsi cd-rom. it would work perfect in 3.0 but 4.0 would not let me copy at any speed had to copy to harddrive first.

i had the same problem with my toshiba 4x scsi cd-rom when 3.0 came out.

do you see the trend adaptec hates toshiba.

toshiba is not even listed on there compatible page anymore.

my fix was to get a new reader a toshiba 4.8x dvd 32x cdrom.

ya i know a toshiba again but at the time they where the only ones makeing scsi dvd drives.

Wallaby

by the way never try to get new firmware from toshiba. the drives are flashable but

they make you send in your drive and wait 6-8 weeks when they could just e-mail you the file and you do it in five minutes.
