Guest Posted March 19, 2000 Just for the sake of posting problems with win2k, here's one. When I browse my network, lets say I want to connect to //comp4, well i can connect no problem, but if i hit the little button at the top of the window that takes you up a directory (ya know, the folder with the little up arrow in it), the network browser freezes and has to be terminated... which of course also terminates explorer. Arg... Since were on the topic of network browsing, I have noticed that windows2000 is MUCH slower at it than 98/NT4. At least it is for me. ------------------ ********************************************** ---Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.--- ********************************************** Pentium II 450@504 4.5X112 128MB PC100 SDRAM Diamond Viper V770 Ultra Sound Blaster Live! DosFreak 2 Posted March 19, 2000 It may be slower because 2000 looks for Active Directory and all of that other crap. It will run much faster if your server is running 2000 and your using 2000 pro. But if your using NT4 server and 2000 pro the network access will seem slower. Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted March 19, 2000 That's probably what it is. I'm on an NT network here at school... so they are still running Server 4. Well, thanx for quenching my curiosity! Share this post Link to post
