Yog 0 Posted March 18, 2000 Can I still use Regclean in Windows 2000 Pro (2195) ? Thanks ahead. Share this post Link to post
mickbench 0 Posted March 18, 2000 According to MS Knowledge base, it only works on Win9x and Win NT/Server 3.51 and 4.0 Until MS States it works on W2K, or someone tells us otherwise, best not use it. As with Win95 to Win98, the register can contain keys and hives that W2K has, but Win NT doesn't. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q147/7/69.asp Share this post Link to post

mickbench 0 Posted March 19, 2000 I have to admit, I've never actually tried to use Regclean on W2K. I'm about to install a second copy of W2K on my system anyhow for mucking about with, and I'll use Regclean on this just to see what the effects are.. I'll keep you posted.. Simon Ngan 0 Posted March 21, 2000 I've been using Regclean for a few months on Advanced Server 2195, no problems so far. In fact, I think it's doing a good job. First time I ran it, the size of the repair file was roughtly 30KB. Share this post Link to post
