Office 2000 won't install sp1

Hi.

Office 2k sp1 just repeatedly prompts for my office 2k cd even though it's in the cd drive. Anyone got or heard of a patch (read 'crack') for this?

Yeah, I had that prob too. Same thing witht he first version of SP1 and now it does the same thing with SP1A. I got so p***** off I just gave up.

It's not an issue if you own a legit copy of Office 2000

Really? Amazing then that BOTH the Select version of Office 2000 and the retail distribution both gave me the same problem.

Well all installed fine on my copy of Office 2000 prem.

It wanted to 'see' the original CD's during installation (or was it just after)

Had no problems since.

i had the same prob on both the "LEGIT" and the "NON-LEGIT" versions so dont go spewing your anti-piracy crap when its not that. I even "SHOWED" its the "ORIGINAL" CDs right from the dell box my software has

All my post syas is that my legit copy of Office 2000 has accepted the SP1a.

As it looks like the original poster doesn't have a legit copy, and the fact that MS said it would have problems on non-legit software that was my assumption.
