biu 0 Posted June 4, 2000 I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. I cannot install any software which is packaged with InstallShield. A error message will pop up when initialization reaches 100%. Anyone can help me? THX!!! Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted June 4, 2000 I've had this problem with one or two apps, but they did install correctly. They usually got right to end, and then the message 'This application has caused errors and will be shut down' (or words to that effect) appeared. The application still ran ok though. Which apps are you trying to install? Share this post Link to post
biu 0 Posted June 4, 2000 Every program which installer is installshield. Detail Description: When the installshield initalization reaches 100%. The error "xxxxxxxx has caused an error, and will be closed by Windows. A log file will be created" will be poped up and the setup will be holded. Any idea? I had searched MS knowledge base and can't find the solution. ; ( Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted June 4, 2000 I can't think of anything that will specifically cause this error, apart from incompatibilty between the version of InstallShield that the developer used and Windows 2000. Is it possible for you to reinstall Windows 2000? I had problems installing Acrobat Reader, but it installed fine after I wiped the PC (I was going to do this anyway so it wasn't a major problem for me). Share this post Link to post
biu 0 Posted June 5, 2000 NO I have tried clean install, but I still get the same problem. Any expert can help me? THX!!! Share this post Link to post
felix 0 Posted June 5, 2000 Do you log in as Administrator? Does the account you are using have "admin" and/or "power user" privelages? If the account only has "user" privelages, some progs will not install. If so, and you are the admin, check/give admin rights and try again. Other than that, this has me stumped!!! ------------------ Written on: PII 300 160mb RAM i740 8mb 20gb Seagate 6gb WDCaviar Using 100% Australian Made recyclable electrons Share this post Link to post
