this is a smart post on my behave. Really, I was told that if there is not an uninstall feature, you must delete all of the DirectX 8.0 files manual and reinstall DirectX 7 again.

My V3 3500 TV tuner decided it didnt wanna work any more after I installed DX 8. All my games seemed to work the same as b4 I installed it(UT,Q3,Croc2). I had to reinstall Win2k Pro to fix unfortunately since there is no way to get it off after installing it.

I wouldnt use it boys, your games arent any faster with it(my experience) and you're askin for probs, its crap!

Guys - I think somehow you're missing the issue here. Everyone seems to be talking abount DX8 as though it is the final release - it's not. What you can download from various (dodgy) sites is an early Beta version. It's bound to give you problems, it's not finished yet, it's not going to work flawlessly.

Do yourselves a favour and don't install anything but the final release version, it will save you a lot of grief.

DX8 worked fine for men, AFTER I did the sticky keys trick and installed all the files manually. only prob now is, that 5 days after I did this, windows goes and restores all the original files. Now all my sticky keys are back and I'm darn well pi**ed!! I can't believe it took 5 days for the file protection to kick in!!

Definitely worth installing in my opinion. I've been running it for a month with no problems and no sticky keys! smile
