EddiE314 0 Posted May 21, 2000 Here's my story. After installing DX8b, i can no longer play 3dDoom witrhout it crashing, UT (4.20) crashes in D3D mode. I was wondering....anyone know how to revert to DX7? Share this post Link to post
jdulmage 0 Posted May 21, 2000 this is a smart post on my behave. Really, I was told that if there is not an uninstall feature, you must delete all of the DirectX 8.0 files manual and reinstall DirectX 7 again. Share this post Link to post

Battleship 0 Posted May 26, 2000 My V3 3500 TV tuner decided it didnt wanna work any more after I installed DX 8. All my games seemed to work the same as b4 I installed it(UT,Q3,Croc2). I had to reinstall Win2k Pro to fix unfortunately since there is no way to get it off after installing it. I wouldnt use it boys, your games arent any faster with it(my experience) and you're askin for probs, its crap! Share this post Link to post
Damien 0 Posted May 28, 2000 Guys - I think somehow you're missing the issue here. Everyone seems to be talking abount DX8 as though it is the final release - it's not. What you can download from various (dodgy) sites is an early Beta version. It's bound to give you problems, it's not finished yet, it's not going to work flawlessly. Do yourselves a favour and don't install anything but the final release version, it will save you a lot of grief. Share this post Link to post
Todd 0 Posted May 28, 2000 DX 8 is working fine for me. Knock on wood ... Share this post Link to post

Ekstreme 0 Posted May 29, 2000 DX8 worked fine for men, AFTER I did the sticky keys trick and installed all the files manually. only prob now is, that 5 days after I did this, windows goes and restores all the original files. Now all my sticky keys are back and I'm darn well pi**ed!! I can't believe it took 5 days for the file protection to kick in!! ------------------ **************************************** Intel PIII 450 ASUS P2B-F (BIOS 1012) 128 MB PC 100 SDRam Diamond Viper 770 32Mb TNT2 (Det. 5.17) Quantum Fireball CR 8.4Gb IDE HDD Quantum Capella 2.2Gb SCSI HDD Tekram DC-310 SCSI Adapter Panasonic CW-7502 8x4 SCSI CD-R Mitsubishi Diamond Data 32x IDE CD Rom Creative Sound Blaster PCI 64 (ES 1370) Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D USB Joystick Epson Stylus Color 400 Printer Dynalink V1456VQE-R External 56k V.90 Modem Daewoo 710b 17" Monitor Windows 2000 2195.1 **************************************** #NTCompatible on UNDERNET!!! euankirkhope 0 Posted May 31, 2000 Keeps the boards busy though DX8 works perfectly for me, not that is makes much difference. Although DVD playback has improved slightly. Share this post Link to post
