Missing Desktop Folder

Recommended Posts

OK, this is the second time this has happened. I start using IE, and when a page starts to load, I get an error that:

"\Documents and Settings\My Name\Desktop is inaccessible"

I then go see if my desktop is gone, and sure enough, it is. I don't keep anything on my desktop [except the default: My Computer, Network Neighborhood, My Documents, and the Recycle Bin]. I then create a folder called Desktop, and everything is fine for about 2 days, then it happens again this morning.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or have any idea what might cause this? It's really annoying. I wouldn't be surprised if I was getting hacked [as my roommate was running a 1 gig warez server and didn't know], but I don't think that is the case.

All help is, of course, appreciated,
