Dgruhin 0 Posted August 10, 2000 I have windows advanced server SP1 installed on an AMD athlon 800 and it does not sort files by TYPE , NAME , DATE or anything in any view in explorer windows and it is making me crazy as i have never seen this problem before (it existed before the Service pack update). If you can help let me know. Thanks - Dave Share this post Link to post
evil Homer 0 Posted August 12, 2000 This may not be a solution to your problem, but this is something I had a problem with some weeks ago when I changed my m/board and cpu. I installed a Asus K7V and Athlon 800, now the bios revision with the board was 1005. I read somewhere that Win2k couldn't read the date from the bios correctly. So when I was forced to reinstall Win2k because of the hardware change, it recognised the date as whatever day it was, but in the year 16500. However, when it created its file system all directories were created with the date 1970, which really screwed up my sorting system. However, installing a new version of the bios fixed the date problem so wiped the drive and I reinstalled Win2k and everything was fine after that. Now, as I said that may not be your problem, but if anyone else has a problem like that, then maybe this will help. Laters.... Homer Share this post Link to post

evil Homer 0 Posted August 12, 2000 Yeah, I was aware that there was a bios upgrade. And yes, I did install it, the same day I got the m/board, and thus the date problem disappeared.... Share this post Link to post
