Home networking - Where to learn

Hi,

 

Sorry for the cross post but I find this forum, you get the best advice.

 

I want to set up a home network, nothing fancy, just 2 pcs joined together. One will be running Win2k, the other Win95/98 both fat32. Probably going down the crossover cable route but maybe eventually when more confident get a hub.

I was wondering if anybody could give me a few pointers on how to do it or refer me to any web sites that would help.

You might want to take a gander at

There is a lot of information there, and there are reviews of a lot of equipment that can make your home network function more reliably and efficiently. They seem to be especially good about Internet connection sharing issues.

 

You'll see so many neat ideas and great ways to spend your money that the idea of the crossover cable will just evaporate.
