Donald2B 0 Posted October 25, 2000 I know there was a way to change the default folder icon used in explorer, but I can't seem to change it in Windows 2K. I have used a couple of shareware apps that are supposed to change the icon, but to no avail. The same ugly yellow folder is still there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. polarcat 0 Posted October 25, 2000 have you tried e-icons program @ http://www.deepgls.com/eicons/ ??? it does the trick for me... Share this post Link to post
Donald2B 0 Posted October 25, 2000 yeah, I have tried that program, but to no Avail! But I think I might know why. I am running an alternate shell and not the windows 2000 default shell. That might be what is causing the problem. I am running the shell Darkstep. Share this post Link to post
jaywallen 0 Posted October 27, 2000 Hi, Donald2B. Try this URL: http://www.pcforrest.freeserve.co.uk/driveico.htm There's a complete description there that lets you determine the icon that's displayed, drive by drive and folder by folder. It's probably not a great way to accomplish changing ALL folders, however. But there might well be links to freeware or shareware on that site that could help. (I saw one link to e-icons there, but I saw your message stating that it didn't work for you.) Hope you find a solution. Regards, Jim Share this post Link to post
