Outlook / Hotmail

I want to set up a Hotmail account in Outlook 2000....

 

it's easy to do in OE...but how do you do it in O2k? the smtp/pop3 servers, I mean.

I did search. look at my status. I'm not a newbie--I know to search before posting questions.

:-) I know you aren't a newbie which is why it surprised me that by typing Outlook and Hotmail in the search dialogue, that thread was found immediately. Damn gremlins in the forum software <g>.

I remember reading an article in a magazine last month about how this can be achieved in Outlook 2000.

 

It doesn't do it the way OE does it, rather it kinda displays the webpages or something like that, I'll see if i can dig out that info for ya.

You should check out the Hotmail options and information pages.

 

I know yahoo supplies all that server info, perhaps Hotmail will too.

It's much simpler than everybody thinks.Just go to tools-->account and choose add mail account.

Type in the display name you want and then type down your hotmail address.e.g. Someone@hotmail.com.Put your password in.

Let Outlook do the rest!

Done!

Exactly. I went to tools in Outlook Express, added my hotmail account and bingo - works great.
